Bake Baker is an Executive Vice President at McGough Companies. He joined McGough over six years ago and serves as head of their Preconstruction Services group. Bake is responsible for coordinating preconstruction services for McGough Construction, as well as McGough Development leading site planning and development work efforts. This includes consultant team coordination and management, design reviews, work effort and project scheduling, site entitlements, and project budgeting. Prior to joining McGough, Bake spent twenty years at HGA (Hammel, Green and Abrahamson) in Minneapolis as a designer and later as a project principal. He holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of Colorado and a Bachelors degree in History from the University of Minnesota.

Mark Dierling is a Principal with Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH®), a multi-disciplined firm of engineers, planners, scientists, and architects with 750 professionals in 30 Midwest offices. Mark holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He has 23 years of transportation engineering experience including Intestate and State Highway, County State Aid highways and municipal street systems. Mark provides expertise to clients in roadway design, and project management, including the use of design-build to deliver large complex transportation projects.

Ben Dzioba, PE, PMP, is an Associate Principal/Senior Engineer in Braun Intertec’s Metro Engineering Group where he focuses on design-build, construction materials testing and other transportation-related projects. Mr. Dzioba has ten years of industry experience and is a registered engineer and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a distinction that recognizes his expertise in leading project teams and delivering results. He has been involved with many major construction projects across Minnesota, including the new I-35W Bridge, TH 212, the Bridges of Mower County, TH 61 Hastings Bridge, TH 169/494, and the TH 13/101 design-build projects. Mr. Dzioba is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and has a degree in civil engineering.

Bill Frazier is a Commercial Markets Manager at AVR, Inc. He has been working in the ready-mixed concrete industry for past 25 years. He specializes in helping contractors utilize all the benefits of concrete in their construction projects. He completed his Master of Business Administration degree from the Executive MBA program at the University of Saint Thomas in May of 2010. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Information Systems from Cardinal Stritch University.

Dave Galey is a structural engineer in the building design profession and currently has his own consulting practice. With over thirty five years in the building design and construction industry, Dave was recently a Principal at Van Sickle Allen and Associates, and prior to that was with HGA for much of his career where he held a number of positions including Director of Engineering and Director of Design-Build Services. He holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Dave's career has included leading the structural engineering for virtually all building types and systems, as well as participating in firm management and leadership. He has been active in The Upper Midwest Region of DBIA since its formation in 2002, and served as President in 2005.

Peter Halls, a partner at Faegre & Benson, LLP, one of the largest US law firms, has provided legal advice for billions of dollars worth of construction projects around the US and internationally. Peter worked with his partner Pat O'Connor to help the AIA prepare its recently issued Integrated Project Delivery forms. Peter's positions have included being Chair, Construction Law Group at Faegre & Benson; President, Minnesota Construction Association and Construction Management Association of America's Minnesota Chapter; Chair, Construction Law Section, Minnesota State Bar Association; Chair, International Construction Law Division of the ABA; and Fellow, American College of Construction Lawyers. Peter is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America and Minnesota Super Lawyers.

John Hamilton is the president of UrbanWorks Architecture LLC. Drawing on 40 years of experience practicing architecture, John Hamilton manages the firm's project teams from the design of the building envelope through specifications. He is a registered Architect in 17 states, served as President of the Minnesota Architectural Foundation, Past Chair of Minnesota AIA Council of Firms, Founding Member of the Jobs Coalition Task Force, and serves on the DBIA Program Committee. Hamilton earned his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University.

Tom Hannasch is a Senior Project Manager at McGough Companies, licensed civil engineer and LEED Accredited Professional. He joined McGough in 2000 and has led a variety of projects from biotech production facilities to residential towers. Prior to joining McGough, Tom spent over fifteen years at Fluor in locations around the U.S. and elsewhere in various capacities in engineering and construction. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University.

Ann M. Johnson, PE is the Faculty Director of the University of Minnesota's Construction Management degree program. She has also served as a Teaching Specialist in the Civil Engineering Department for the last fourteen years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, and a Master of Civil Engineering with a Pavement Emphasis from the University of Minnesota. Ms. Johnson is a Professional Engineer registered in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.

As the Faculty Director of the Construction Management Degree program at the University of Minnesota, she manages the development and delivery of curricula that includes planning and scheduling, construction materials, estimating, legal and ethical issues, contracts and documents, structural design, and several architecture courses. The program serves both traditional college students seeking a four-year degree, as well as professionals working in industry, and is offered through the College of Continuing Education.

Within the Civil Engineering Department, Ms. Johnson teaches CADD, highway design, AutoCAD, and surveying. She also serves at the Department's Outreach Coordinator, responsible for Department tours and outreach activities targeted at a wide range of potential students. Ms. Johnson also teaches many courses in highway design and construction materials for the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Aggregate Ready Mix Association. Before teaching at the University, Ms. Johnson taught full time at Dunwoody Technical College in Minneapolis, and St. Paul Technical College in St. Paul.

Ms. Johnson began her career as an engineer in the Airports Department at HNTB Corporation directly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, and worked there for six years. After leaving HNTB, Ms. Johnson worked for three years at Braun Intertec as a Senior Engineer in the Pavements Division.

Ron LaMere is a principal and structural engineer with BKBM Engineers where he is involved at the executive level and all phases of engineering management. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honors from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. Ron is a past-president of CASE/Minnesota (now Minnesota Structural Engineers Association - MNSEA) and is active at the national level with all three structural engineering organizations (SEI, NCSEA and CASE). He is also a member of the State of Minnesota’s Building Code Structural Advisory Committee.

Sara Malin is a licensed architect that serves as a project and business development manager at Horty Elving, a full-service, multi-disciplinary design and construction management firm located in Minneapolis that specializes in community health care and senior care projects. Sara's focus at Horty Elving is to serve clients with excellence in the design build delivery system. Malin has over 15 years of experience in architectural design, construction management, and commercial real estate development. Malin is a member of the AIA and graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Grant Peterson serves as Vice President of Opus AE Group, a division of the Opus Group, a full service Design-Build Development company. Grant has a Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Minnesota with over 35 years of professional practice and 25 years with Opus. Based in Minneapolis, The Opus Group is a national developer with offices in six cities in the US and Canada and is a charter member of the DBIA.

Ken Peterson is an Associate Vice President at HGA, a full service architecture, engineering, and planning firm headquartered in Minneapolis. He joined HGA over 10 years ago and has led the structural engineering efforts on projects throughout the United States. He is currently involved in the design-build restoration efforts of the Union Depot in downtown St. Paul planned to become a new multimodal transportation hub for the region. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
